Not knowing where you are heading can be a very powerful concept. When thinking about the dynamics in our changing society, where linear paths are increasingly something of our past, I can only imagine that many of us will frequently find ourselves in ‘that place’. I have come to appreciate the power of ‘not knowing’. It can ultimately lead to the wisest choices and decisions, if you can trust that the solutions will come to you. Do you (dare to) believe that the system will show you the way?
Yesterday I participated in a special workshop on ‘intuitive systemic coaching’ as part of my course on constellations. We were taught techniques on dealing with uncertainty, handling chaos, working through inaccuracies and more. I realised (and remembered) three areas that are fundamental when working with unknowns, in yourself, in your teams or within your organisation (or family):
- ‘be grounded’, only when your base is solid will you be able to move forward
- ‘sh*t’ can actually deliver fertile ground
- when observing (feeling) resistance you know you are heading towards solutions
I feel an urge coming up to invite you to one of my first ‘test change ceremonies’ where you can contribute to my ultimate product. I am a believer in co-creation after all.
