This morning the ‘Wheel of Fortune’ fell. My daily ritual of shuffling tarot cards, sensing my energy of the day, alluding to my journey ahead. The card points to the possibility of many different directions, informed by previous actions. How apt. This daily ritual grounds me and inspires me to take a minute (or two) to reflect on the priorities of the day ahead in light of my overall priorities. This ritual has proven very meaningful to me, particularly right now with the world going through such upheaval. Where are we heading?
Good Friday to you. In many cultures and countries around the world Easter celebrations have begun, in alternative ways, for sure. I observe an increased longing for ‘the spiritual’, meaning different things to different people. It might very well be my wishful thinking. Yet, with all going on, we seem to search for meaning. Meaning with loved ones, friends, co-workers, neighbours, nature, animals, the divine, etc. What is that like for you?
As we are heading into Easter I felt the motivation to share an article with you that was published in Psychology Today on the 24th of March: ‘A message from the virus, or from our ancestors?’ The article states that Kristin Flyntz’ ode ‘eloquently captures the profound psychological and existential amber in which humanity finds itself today’.
I can read it again and again, and every time it moves me. I might read it by candlelight one of the next evenings, or when eating an Easter egg.
Stay safe, stay sane!
